 The Supreme Council of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. approved the charter request of Upsilon Nu Chapter on October 12, 1971.  The chapter was chartered at the home of Bro. Raymon Cowans who lived in Mechanicsville Virginia.  Brother  Joseph Stills received the official letter of acceptance.  The application was officiated by our Third District Representative, Brother Melvin Washington.

The first written account of the Upsilon Nu Chapter History was written in 1984. A summary version was prepared in 2010 at the request of our Third District History and Archives Chairman.
