Background
As a commitment to the Cardinal Principle Scholarship, the Upsilon Nu Scholarship and Social Action Foundation was established. The foundation has maintained 501(c)(3) status since 2000.   Fundraising efforts have included joint collaboration with Chesterfield Alumnae Chapter of
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. as well as other efforts.

Each year the chapter awards scholarships to Richmond area high school graduates bound for college. The foundation also maintains the memory of Kavansa Smith, an Omega member and Richmond teacher who passed away during an after school activity in 1975.

 Programs of the Foundation
Since 2000 the foundation has provided more than $120,000 to Richmond area high school graduates. The foundation has also funded activities such as Annual Talent Hunt, Que/Delta Dance, Achievement Week, Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament and Holiday Food Basket donations.  For 2009-10, the chapter awarded $7000 at the Richmond Pan Hellenic Scholarship program.
